Sharing your AOL Blog

An AOL Blog is a great way to take note of what really matters in your life. Whether you use it as an online diary, a travel log, or a way to comment on the day's news, at some point you might want to share it with friends and family online.

There are two types of AOL Blog.

Public blogs are available to anyone you give the link to. If they're impressed, they might choose to pass the link on to their friends, and so on. Today, AOL... tomorrow, a widely known web journalist (maybe!).

If you would rather your thoughts had a more select audience, you may wish to create a private blog. These are only available to the people you give access to. What's more, if you decide a friendship has come to an end, you can remove people from the reader list.

Sharing a public blog
Sharing a public blog is simple and can be done in two main ways:

- When you create a blog, you will receive an email from UKMemberPublish telling you the address. You can then copy and paste this into an email or Instant Message addressed to your friend.
- Within your blog, if you click Edit blog then Tell others about your blog, you can quickly invite a number of friends to read it at once.

Sharing a private blog
To choose who can and cannot read your private blog, open it up and click Edit Blog. At the bottom of the screen, you will find Options and Permissions. Click Add readers to do just that, or click Manage readers to remove people.

Adding a reader automatically sends them a link to your blog in an email.
